I loved playing outside as a child. I spent a lot of time biking, swimming, building forts, and playing by a creek behind my house. I would go outside after I had breakfast and stay outside until it got dark. According to recent studies, this type of play is rapidly disappearing.
It is important for kids to play outside. Kids who play outside are stimulated by their environment and are motivated to protect the planet. Engaging in creative play outdoors also promotes resilience. Therefore, Earth Day Canada is dedicating this year's campaign to outdoor play.
Think about how you connect with nature. Write a descriptive paragraph about your favourite outdoor activity.
What I like to do outside. I really like to go fishing a lot. I like to go fishing because you get to enjoy the view and the breeze, and it is fun to reel in a fish because it is a real surprise when you reel it in. Then my mom usually likes to take a video of me reeling it in. Also my mom would take a photo of me with my fish that I caught. That's what I do when I go outside.

DeleteI love to do many types of outdoor activities but one of my favorites is going out on the pontoon boat with all my cousins and jumping off of the boat. I remember one summer that we were out in a camp and my uncle had bought a pontoon boat for us. Every day we were out on the water fishing and swimming. The pontoon boat and kind of an upstairs where you could climb up a ladder and jump off the top. That was one of the best summers.

My favorite things to do out side are jump on my trampoline and going on my four wheeler and golf cart and going swimming. I like to go on my trampoline because i love doing flips. I like to go on my four wheeler and golf cart only when gabe is over because we always tip them and go really fast. I like to go swimming because i like doing tricks in the water and just swimming.

My favorite outdoor activity is playing sports because i think playing with friends is fun and it is trying. Like playing soccer on recesses with my friends. I like playing road hockey at my grandma's farm. I also like playing basket ball on recesses.

"I got it!! I got it!!" This is one of my friends after they succeeded in getting the flag. My favourite thing to do outside is, playing a giant game of capture the flag with my friends. Sometimes they can go for hours on end.
ReplyDeleteOn some Sunday nights we go over to my friends and about 20 of us gather. Some boys, some girls and kids from all ages. We try to make as even teams as we can. Of course we use team captains, and those are usually the oldest people. When we finally get the game going, it is super fun! We split up the teams on the two sides of the yard.
Our rules are, you have to try and get the flag from the other side. If you get tagged on the opposite side, you have to freeze and wait for someone to come get you. If you get the flag you must run back to your side. Guards have to be at least 5 feet away from the flag at all times. Mostly everyone follows these rules. It is so much fun, and when someone cheats, it is just so we all can get a good laugh.
When someone gets hurt, we all are worried and we try to make them laugh. It is nice because they always get up and we play again. If it happens that one team is stacked we usually try and make the teams more fair. I play with, Bethany, Ethan D., Denis, Rachel, Hope, Tyler, Amanda, Steven, Amanda J., Joel, Jon, Billy, and others. Those are mostly the older kids.
I love playing sports with these people because they are really honest. Everyone is equal and treated fairly. The little kids sometimes get head starts because they are sometimes slower. It is great exercise and I love doing it.
I also like playing other sports with them like Soccer, Baseball, Man Hunt, Sardines, and other games. Which we do on other days because Sunday is mainly about capture the flag because everyone loves it. It is also hard to get everyone together on school nights.

DeleteBuilding fort's outside with my cousins is one of my favorite things to do because on a warm summer day like July 30th my cousins gather to celebrate 3 of my cousins birthdays. After swimming and lunch we set off to work on forts. Nails, old boards, saws even drills are hulled out to our future sites of are master forts. My cousins and I go so crazy that when were older my grandparents say that we will start to take apart the camp. Since I have so much fun just building forts I know that right now I would like to be a designer, carpenter or a construction worker.

DeleteMy favorite outdoor activity is riding my bike around my house and sometimes going around the town, Wikiwemkong. When I ride my bike I feel like I am as free as a bird. Riding a bike is driving but for kids or adults without a drivers license. I just had my bike fixed so that the pedal won't come off when I ride it (It happened when I was biking around my house.) When I ride my bike I like it more than any outdoor activity that you could ever think of. The reason I say that is because when I go fast I like to ride with no hands because it gives me a chance to work on that skill. That is why riding my bike is my favorite thing to do outside.

I see you like to ride your scooter. One thing you could fix is that you kind of repeat what you were saying in the first paragraph in the third. When did you get your electric scooter? How many KMPH can it go? Do you think when you are on your scooter. Maybe take out the "u" and replace it with "you". I would like to try an electric scooter, is it the same as normal but electric?
DeleteMy favorite activity to do outdoors would go hunting with my family or friends at my camp or my Grandpas lots. I like Wolf hunting but it isn't as common as me hunting for deer with my Grandpa. I also like going fishing with my brother of a dock. We go to our dock but that is the worlds best place to loose your best lure because its so shallow. I like fishing by the Norisle and I love fishing at my Uncles because he feeds them and your going to catch 5 fish at 5 PM because thats when he usually feeds them so its primetime.

ReplyDeleteI swim in pools and in lakes but I love to swim in lakes more than pools. At my house I have an entrance to the beach in Manitowaning. So when I wake up I would walk down to the beach. I really like the water when It is calm and just me, I can do lot’s of tricks. I can do front and back stroke, back and front somersaults handstands and so much more. I love to teach my brothers new ways to swim. I hope one day I will be a professional swimmer when I am older!!
I like swimming to. But I think that you should add some detail of who taught you or did you teach yourself how to swim. Why do you like to swim in lakes more than pools. Other than adding a little bit more detail. I really like yours.

DeleteMy favourite outdoor activity is going outside and playing sports by myself. It's hard to play sports by yourself but I have no one to play with. The sport’s I play are soccer, hockey and baseball. When I play hockey I go on my porch to use as the ice and I like to play with a soft ball. When I play soccer I use my field which is more than 100m meters long and 50m wide so it's really helpful for practicing. For baseball, since I have no one to pitch to me so I just throw the ball on the roof and when it comes down I hit a HOME RUN. I love to play these sports because it gives time for myself.

DeleteAt my house, their is a lot to do outside. The only thing that would make it better is having friends to hang out with outside. My favorite activity to do outside is probably biking or shooting pucks of a hockey net. My neighborhood is nice for bike rides. There is big hills and tons of places to go bike riding like the tennis courts or the water treatment plant road or the beach at my grandma's house. Now for shooting pucks I have a nice regular sized net, 3 practice hockey sticks, a bucket with about 40 pucks in it and a sanded piece of wood for shooting pucks. Well, that's my favorite things to do outside. All for now.
ReplyDeleteEven though I spend most of the time in my house, I also play outside a lot as well. One of my favorite activities is to play baseball. When I'm playing by myself, I usually practice by throwing the baseball in the air and trying to catch it with my baseball glove. When I’m not up to throwing the baseball in the air, I improve my batting. It’s really hard to do though, but I still try it sometimes. When my dad plays baseball with me, it’s more funner. He usually throws the baseball for me to hit, or we play catch. One of my favorite other things to do outside is playing soccer. I practice kicking the ball & trying to score. Those are my favorite things to do outside.
